Re: Round 22 of Indianapolis
I'm going to throw my picks out early! I will give 3 picks that I think will do well and one pick I think will fall short of expectations.
Green Flag pick for this week is Dillon Young. You might be thinking to yourself, Dillon Young has been no where all season and yes I would agree with only 3 Top 10s in 21 races and 35th in points when last year he was a Top 5 driver in points. However, Dillon Young has great stats here at Indy. It's one of his favorite tracks with 5 Top 10 finishes here in his entire career along with a win back here in Season 6! Young has been close to many other wins here other than Season 6 so expect him to give HorizonGroup a solid running for the Indy 250.
White Flag pick is Nick Mace. Mace is a driver that's hard not to pick each and every week however again this is a track he's done amazing at his whole career. He also has 5 Top 10 finishes here over his career and has won here twice! Look for Nick Mace to try and defend his Indy 250 win from last season.
Checkered Flag pick is Dom Caps. Dom Caps is by far the best driver at Indianapolis. Despite never winning at the Brickyard, Dom Caps has the most Top 10 finishes of any driver in the history of the SCS at Indianapolis with 7 Top 10 finishes at this track and he's only started 10 starts at this track! Look for Dom Caps to make a serious championship statement here at Indy and go after the win and possibly break a long winless streak and earn his first win of the year.
Black Flag pick is Jake Baskinger. Jake Baskinger has 7 starts at this track and has never finished inside the Top 10 here or had any speed when racing here. Jake Baskinger's a driver I think that's hoping to have a solid day come Sunday and to try and come away with a Top 10. This isn't his strongest track, I don't expect him to make much noise. With the championship on the line, this race could be a make or break for him.

Re: Round 22 of Indianapolis
Sean Perkins Pick: Luke Martin. Luke is one of the most talented drivers in the field. Therefore it is not a surprise that I would pick him. Indianapolis is the type of attrition filled track that will take people out at will. Martin excels at those types of races.

Re: Round 22 of Indianapolis
Martin is not a bad pick, he has 4 Top 10 finishes here at this track and has ran well. He got taken out late last year while running in the lead. Luke Martin has won here twice before in Season 8 and 16. Him and Nick Mace are the only ones that's won here twice.
Re: Round 22 of Indianapolis
UPDATE: Chris Dodd will not be a Go or Go Homer due to Aaron Taylor not driving at Indy, that makes room for the next driver outside the Top 35 to take his place in being locked into the races.

Dodd: "While it isn't the way I would have wanted to make the race, I am extremely relieved to not have to worry about whether or not we are going to make the race. We can work solely on our race setup now, and I know that this #3 IKEA Chevy team will be happy to just have to worry about the race."

Finguy: "Last year, getting into Indy was a career highlight for me. That felt like a victory on that day. I'm hoping to share that same moment with either Daleo or Shelly. How much a year makes after 'The Miracle of Indy'."

Going to start 10th. Biggest thing I hope for is for there to not be a wreck on the front straightaway like 2015, and we could have a chance to go back-to-back.

Re: Round 22 of Indianapolis
Andreas: "Well......... isn't that just grand. This has to be the worst qualifying session we have had as a team this year. Just not what we needed today. Our cars were just very aero loose, barely could turn in the corners. The crews say they are gonna work all night to get these cars up to snuff fir race day. Also this weekend we have a new engine in that 43, the engine problems this year have been too numerous, and while last week the problem was minor enough for us to fix and only lose one lap, we have to make sure the problem doesn't become major and end our race like it has many times this year. Lastly sorry to John our cars were so bad in this session, I hope for our next attempt together that it goes better then this."
